Apr. 14th, 2010 @ 11:45 pm Update on the WoW hack
Current Mood: angryangry
By looking on the World of Warcraft Armory site, I can see that my main character, Shukeralle, has been deleted by the hackers.

This is a loss of more than 30,000 gold - which is irritating, but I don't care too much about. Far more important to me is that this is the loss of almost four years of playtime on the one character, which is heartbreaking.

Four years is a long time. Sometimes it was boring, and I would leave the world (of warcraft) for a while, but I would always find myself coming back. After four years of emotional investment in the character I couldn't ever bring myself to leave her alone for long.

All the work I spent on getting Shuke exalted with the Cenarion Circle and the Ceniarion Expedition? Gone. That moment where I turned in one last lot of Naga Armaments to Ysiel Windsinger, hit Exalted with the Cenarion Expedition, and was finally a Guardian of Cenarius? That Guardian of Cenarius is no more, dead, as if she never existed.

All the time she spent getting Heirloom gear for other characters, and the worgen and troll characters I was going to try out in Cataclysm? Gone, and the heirloom pieces are probably boosting some little shit's characters.

I was going to go back to the Plaguelands and work on Argent rep, before the Cataclysm changed the Plaguelands forever.

I was going to go back to Outlands and do a few more of the group quests that Shukeralle ignored back when they were current, because I was never on when enough other people were.

I was going to join in in the Gnomeregan Offensive, wearing my "of Gnomeregan" title with pride.

Shuke can't do any of that anymore, because she's gone.

Even if I get the Battle.net account restored, and my PC cleaned up (except AVGFree has finished its scan and reported no suspicious programs), if I can't get Shuke back, then I may just quit.
