Slightly less random randomness
It was International Women's Day on Monday.
To highlight this fact, I did what we always do in my department at work - I called a morning tea. With once caveat - for only the guys to bring things in.
It went well enough.
I wish I'd found this term earlier. (It would have been great to find it on Monday, for example.) In any case, I found this via Karen's post explaining 'mansplaining'. Basically, it is where a man explains to a woman something she already knows, or is wrong about something she is actually right about, or about something she actually knows more about than he does.
Being a white male in a society where white male privilege is so thoroughly ingrained, I'm sure I've been guilty of mansplaining. I just hope I can catch myself before I do it again.
