I like the idea of Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu, but after the first few episodes the execution is just so... typical. Episode 4 should have been a look at the result at school of Haruka's secret coming out.
Yet, such a thing is nowhere to be found. We get all the usual stories. Meet these wacky characters! The School Culture Festival! The Love Triangle! (Even though the male protagonist shows no interest in any of the other girls.) Silly misunderstandings! A threatening and overbearing yet ultimately silly and ineffectual father! Oh, and let's have a Cosplay Cafe at the School Culture Festival for the flimsiest of reasons!
Which leads ultimately to the real reason I wanted to make this post: Just once I would like to see a Cosplay Cafe at the School Culture Festival story where someone says, "OK, we'll put on one of these Cosplay Cafe things... just as long as for every girl that dresses up, one of the guys does as well." |
